From the School Leadership Team

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language and next year’s words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning.”― T.S. Eliot

Our last leadership update for 2022, how quickly that went. When I reflect on the year that we have had, I am amazed at the amount we endured as a school community and how much we achieved.

COVID was our most significant challenge and factor this year and dictated a lot of our operational guidelines, however, as we entered the final months of the year, we saw our community come together and celebrate many significant and important events.

Thank you to everyone involved for our End Of Year Party, Diwali, the Federal Election BBQ and cake stall, Soccer Match and all of the other events throughout the year. We are very lucky with our CJC community and we hope to see this grow next year.

You will have seen a communication from the school last week about our back to school processes. We are excited about the 'Welcome Back Afternoon', our teachers can't wait to share information with you, get information from you and then celebrate the 2023 academic year as a community. This is a change from what we have usually done in previous years, but it is a positive change and will allow our whole community to connect early in the year.

We launched our school values this week under the theme of 'HERO' - not everyone has to wear a cape to be one. Thank you to our wellbeing Team for organising this and to all of our students for their involvement on this important day.

H - Honesty

E - Empathy

R - Respect

O - Optimism

Our Grade 3/4s have returned from Camp. From all reports they had a wonderful time. Thank you to the parents and staff who attended camp, we can not facilitate such important aspects of schooling without willing volunteers.

Last Day of Term

Today is the final day of term. Tomorrow is a Curriculum Day, teachers will be at school involved in professional development and concluding the school year - this is a student free day.

2023 Important Dates

School Council met this week and approved two more of our Curriculum Days for 2023.

One Curriculum Day will be held on the 9th June and this will be a Parent/Teacher Interview Day.

The other Curriculum Day will be held on the 6th November and this will be a professional development day. We will be getting Peter Sullivan out to work with our staff on improving numeracy outcomes at our school.

Our specialist team will be involved in professional development that will enhance their programs.

Back to school dates

We are looking forward to welcoming our Year 1 - 6 students back on the 31st January 2023.

Our Prep students will begin on Tuesday February 7th.

For those that are celebrating - have a very Merry Christmas and safe holidays to all.
