Grade Four

During the last week, students have been investigating 3D shapes. They have learnt about the features of the different shapes and explored their nets through a variety of hands-on activities. Students have also been working on their individual multiplication and division goal and have been making great progress.

In literacy, students have been reading different procedural texts and they have identified the text and language features associated with these. They are currently writing their own procedural texts, which we are looking forward to reading, once published.

Last week, the students enjoyed their excursion to the Coal Creek Museum. It was wonderful for the students to be able to see first hand how life was in the 1800s. Our Integrated unit of study last term focused on how things had changed or remained the same over time. Students enjoyed seeing how shops, machinery and services had evolved over time. Students engaged in a school lesson, where they wrote on slate and experienced fountain pens.
