We Will Rock You

This year’s College Musical, Queen’s We Will Rock You opens this week for five performances. Featuring a cast of 55 students led by Makenzie H and Jasmine E as Galileo Figaro and Scaramouche, it charts a story set 300 years into the future. Music has been banned by the ruthless Killer Queen (Sophie C) and the thoughts of all people are controlled by her evil sidekick, Khashoggi (Angelique C).

After hearing long forgotten lyrics in his dreams, Galileo sets off on a quest to rediscover the wonders of live music and show the inhabitants of the iPlanet the joy it brings. On the way, he falls in love with Scaramouche and meets a group of Bohemians who also seek to bring music back. Buddy (Lachlan T), Britney Spears (Lorjel S) and Ozzie Osbourne (Clarice C) all seek to help reclaim music for the people.

An amazing band of 10 students and staff, led by Musical Director Ms Robyn Cole, rock their way through 24 monster Queen hits. They are supported by a further 20 students and staff in key production roles.

Dazzling choreography has been prepared by Josh Pagram from RPA Studios. Direction by Mr Michael Cooper brings together all the colour and energy this production deserves.

As the 20th Aitken College Musical, all tickets are $20 each (plus booking fee) or a group/family of four ticket is $70.

Performances are at 7.30pm on July 22, 23 and 29 as well as a 4pm matinee on July 28 and a final 2pm show on Saturday July 30. Tickets can be booked at https://www.trybooking.com/BXDYK up to one hour prior to each performance. Or tickets are available at the door for $22 each or $80 for a group of four.

WWRY is our first live musical in three years and not to be missed. The College Musical is one of the largest cultural events of our year and a great opportunity to celebrate the amazing students in Performing Arts while gathering as a College community. It is suitable for the whole family and is sure to leave you humming along with many of its iconic songs.

Check out some of the other photos from the first dress rehearsal and enjoy one of the most epic Queen songs of all time, "Bohemian Rhapsody".
