Term 3 Author visit – David Lawrence

We are very excited to finally welcome David to the school after COVID cancelled his scheduled visits in 2020 and 2021.  David will be doing sessions with Year 7 and 8 on Friday 19 August.

David is a comedy writer/performer who makes a living out of pretending to be other people. He has written for numerous TV shows including Hamish & Andy, Comedy Inc., TV Burp and Talkin’ About Your Generation, and accidentally became a children’s author in 2008. David’s Anna Flowers, Fox Swift, Ball Stars, Maxi the Lifeguard and Japarrika series all have sporting themes and use comedy to tackle issues such as bullying and racism in schools.

The Stormy Protest (the second book in the Maxi the Lifeguard series) won the 2019 Children’s Environmental Award. David is also a proud Ambassador of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

Our new and improved Smartsuite homepage!

We are in the process of redesigning our Smartsuite homepage with the new version software.  We are very excited with how it is coming up and hope our students love it too!

We were delighted to be asked to present our system in a workshop for the Smartsuite community recently, with over 100 attendees from schools around Australia.  Our new homepage was also recently highlighted by Smartsuite on Social media.

We still have a few students who haven’t reset their passwords from the start of the year and won’t be able to access Smartsuite.  If this is the case please follow these steps:

• enter your Compass username.
• Enter the temporary password frankston
• Reset your password – your Compass password is recommended

Library Loans

We currently have a huge number of overdue books from last term.  Just a reminder that library loans are for two (2) weeks only and students are expected to renew or return their books after this time.  Whilst we do not charge overdue fines, if your book is long overdue you will need to pay for a replacement.  Students receive automated reminder emails.
