If you hit the dust
Let me raise you up
When your bubble busts
Let me raise you up
If your glitter rusts
Let me raise you up

One of the key features of Strategic Direction #2: flexible, future-focused and innovative teaching practices is enhancing the use of technology to support learning. We are involved in a free trial of Edrolo software in Term 3. This online resource bank contains invaluable videos that explicitly breakdown and explain HSC answers. Teachers were trained on Edrolo this week and Year 11 and Year 12 students will be trained in Week 2. I encourage students to take advantage of this free trial to explore the videos and online quizzes to prepare for their HSC. Parents can find out more information at their website: https://edrolo.com.au/.
The NSW Department of Education has identified Cecil Hills HS as a high performing school in the area of student wellbeing. We invest heavily in our welfare team and our wonderful year advisers are at the forefront of student wellbeing. In terms of my introductory quote, when students do have their ‘bubble bust’ from time to time, our welfare supports raise students up and ensure they reach their potential. I will provide more detail in relation to this success for our school in a future newsletter. It is fantastic to see our approach to student wellbeing being recognised in this way.
You may have seen recent media reports of an upgrade to Cecil Hills High School High School.
I have been advised that our school will have an increase in permanent classrooms and an upgrade of core facilities.
This is most definitely welcomed and will make our fantastic school even better. The project is currently in the planning phase and you can track developments at this website: https://www.schoolinfrastructure.nsw.gov.au/projects/c/Cecil-Hills-High-School-upgrade.html
Wow! We had a massive turnout to our subject selection evening earlier in the week. A copy of the presentation has been sent to email addresses for Year 8 and Year 10 parents and students.
It is important for students to make the best decisions possible based on the advice provided at this event.
Thank you to Mrs Reid, our Careers Adviser who works tirelessly, providing information, guidance and advice to help students explore their education and career options, create a resumes, search for jobs, apply for jobs and/or apply for further study. Mrs Reid liaises with parents, teachers, employers, community agencies and training providers to ensure our students receive the best possible opportunities in the workforce.
