Camden 2019
Congratulations to all students involved
Unfortunately things didn’t go our way when we contested the 48th Robert Montgomery Shield.
This year Cowra hosted Camden High School on Wednesday 5 to Friday 8 June. From all reports the students had a great time with their host billets. Creating friendships that will last forever!!!
On Day 1 three sports were contested. The traditional Rugby League games for the senior and junior boys and for the second time girl’s League Tag. The junior boys started the proceedings and it was Cowra that drew first blood winning 52-0. The League Tag girls then had their opportunity to shine and they didn’t disappoint. Unfortunately the game ended in a draw 12-12. The Open RugbyLleague game lived up to its anticipation with big hits throughout the game. Unfortunately, Camden were too good on the night winning 24-10.
On Day 2 the students were very busy going from one sport to the next. The sports played were Soccer, Basketball, Netball, Volleyball, Cricket, Hockey and Debating. Many games came down to the wire which showed the determination of all our students. Congratulations must go to the junior and senior girls soccer, boys and girls volleyball, boys and girls cricket, junior debate and girls hockey teams on their outstanding victories.
The social was again a massive hit for all the students. The theme was ‘Sports Heroes!' Many students got in the spirit of the night but it was the Cowra High School Year 12 students that were crowned ‘Best Dressed’.
On Day 3 the students had another tough day ahead of them. The sports being contested were Soccer, Softball, Basketball, Chess, Tennis, Oz Tag and Super Quiz. The highlight of the day was the Open Girls Softball team who were super impressive in their victory. Other victories included boys and girls tennis, junior mixed touch football and senior girls basketball.

I would like to congratulate all the students who participated in the 2019 Camden Exchange. Their behaviour on and off the field was exceptional. The sportsmanship they displayed throughout the exchange was of the highest quality. I would also like to thank all the coaches for their hard work getting the teams ready. Without your dedication this exchange wouldn’t run as smooth as it did.
