Parent's Association

A full programme of fundraising and social events was organised by the Parents Association this year.  Foundation parents were welcomed with Bubbles and Tears, then all families welcomed with the Family Fun Night and BBQ. The Car Boot Sale and return of a chocolate drive spearheaded the large amount of money raised this year raising more than $3,000 and $3,400 respectively.  The Mother's Day and Father's Day stalls, raising $1,900 combined, were a hit as ever with the students.

With attendance high at the disco, it raised $2,500, while the biggest turn out for several years at the Adult Trivia Night contributed to a whopping $6,300 being raised.  Even wet and cold weather could not dampen the mood at the Colour Run and again the efforts of the students resulted in more than $4,500 being raised.

The bonus of an Election Day BBQ and Cake Stall combined with Silver September's results being the best ever added another $2,200 to the total.  Smaller events like the Vision Portraits, Yarra Valley Tour, Movie Night added another $1,000.

Overall it has been a very successful year for the Marlborough Parents Association.  In total the school community raised more than $25,000.  These funds will be used for the playground renewal that will see improvements to the outdoor space starting from early 2020.  We hope that students and parents have enjoyed the events and the opportunities to get together as a school community.

All this could not happen without a dedicated group of parents who gave up their time to plan, run and help out at the events.  Great to see so many new parents on the committee and helping organising events.  Thanks to all the committee members, event organisers and event helpers who gave up their time and contributed to making this year such a success.

Planning and for 2020 has begun.  The MPS PA is in need of some new helpers though.  Currently some events planned for next year do not have organisers.  If you are willing to help out please contact one of the PA Members:

Stefan - 0411 519 503

Jocelyn - 0407 514 113

With continued support from the community, over the next few years, the PA will be able to raise the necessary funds to complete the playground renewal.

Have a great break and I hope to see you at the events next year.
