LIBRARY REPORT

WELCOME

The library staff would like to welcome all students, and new students especially, to the library.  Please come in to check out services and all the new books in the library.  All students can now borrow.  Last year’s students are asked to bring their student/library card.  As well as using it to borrow books it can be used on the photocopier.  New Year 7 students can borrow using their cases code/student ID (3 letters and 4 numbers: e.g. SMI0023).  The library is open until 4:30pm daily, a great time and place to come and complete school work.

UPDATED LIBRARY SYSTEM

Over the holidays our library operating system Oliver was updated.  It is a cloud based system and can be used by any student on the internet.  On the catalogue page are links to many (paid) online services the school subscribes to.  You can also look here to see what books you have on loan and when they are due back.

DID YOU WATCH A MOVIE OVER THE HOLIDAYS?

As you probably already know many films are based on books.  Searching the subject heading “Motion pictures – Fiction” will give you a list of books in the library that have film tie ins.

There are also numerous TV programs that have book tie ins.
