NAPLAN tests the sorts of skills that are essential for every child to progress through school and life, such as reading, writing, spelling, grammar and numeracy. It is important to remember that NAPLAN is not about passing or failing, but about assessing learning progress. At the classroom level it is one of a number of important tools used by teachers to measure student progress.
Please see the information regarding the St Edward's School Assessment Schedule for 2021.
If you would like to access the Public Demonstration Site to see what the Naplan Platform looks like please click on the link below.
It has been wonderful to meet our new Kindergarten students for 2022 and their families. During our enrolment meeting we are very excited to talk about the wonderful educational experiences that we offer here at St Edward's School. As we walk around the classrooms at the Infants Campus we are delighted to discuss and explain exactly what is taking place in our classrooms. Feedback from students and parents is that they feel affirmed in their decisions to send their child to St Edward's School. We look forward to continuing our enrolment interview in the coming week. As you know we are reaching capacity very quickly, so if you know of anyone who would like to come and experience what we have to offer here at Eddies, please encourage them to complete an enrolment form and make an appointment by contacting the Infants Campus Office.
The Mother's Day Stall is back and we need your help!! Please see the Parent Association page in this newsletter to nominate a time that you can help. Details regarding this event are included below:
What a very pleasant surprise to receive an amazing donation of seedlings & gardening expertise from Bunnings Warehouse. This was very much appreciated by our school community. On Friday, 23rd April, the official ‘Bunnings Plant-Off’ happened under the guidance of Sharon Secomb, Bunnings Activity Officer.
At St Edward’s School, we have a fully operational Brekky Club at the Primary campus. This caters for up to 100 students per session, supplying what we consider to be a great start to the day. Brekky Club helps us give our students the very best start to the day and also encourages great socialisation skills amongst the students as they gather, sit & share breakfast. With Bunnings’ assistance, it is becoming even better!
Their generous donation has enabled us to develop a Vegetable/ Herb Garden, so that we can provide our students with fresh produce and develop a ‘Paddock to Plate’ experience for the students. When children are involved in the growing, picking and eating, they develop a healthy respect for the need for good diet choices. As time goes on, more and more students will be involved in the planting, gardening, harvesting & eating of the fresh produce.
We all really appreciate the integral part companies such as Bunnings are willing to play in our role as educators.
Have a great week,
