The Eco Team’s YouTube Channel

If you haven’t heard about it already, now is the chance to take a look at, and subscribe to, The Frankston High School Eco Team’s YouTube channel. It features content including the likes of environmental hints and tips, news casts, campaign material and interviews. Guests that have been interviewed include Gardening Australia’s Costa Georgiadis, the legendary Tim Costello AO, the very funny Sammy J, the man waging a war against waste Craig Reucassel, the very sustainable Erin Rhoads, the amazing surfer Pacha Light, the tireless advocate for the oceans Josie Jones, the leader of the One Million Year Ice Core Project Dr. Joel Pedro, combined Nobel prize winner and director of The Climate Change Institute at ANU Professor Mark Howden, and the amazing advocate for science Dr. Karl Kruszelnicki to name a few.

Every click on The Eco Team’s YouTube videos helps to support The Eco Team. It tells them that people are learning, that people are taking environmental issues seriously, and that people want to see a better world where we respect the environment around us for the benefit of all.

In the interests of transparency, The Eco Team receives no monetary gains from YouTube.

The Eco Team’s Recycling Hub

Located behind the STEM Centre on the 7-10 Campus is a set of large bins, with the sole purpose of collecting recyclable items. People from within and outside the Frankston High School Community are most welcome to use these bins to get rid of:

  • Old electrical tools
  • Electrical items in general (including old mobile phones)
  • Clothing
  • Plastic toys

All items collected by the bins are recycled and repurposed. The Eco Team is paid a small rate for having the bins on site, so use of the bins helps to support the team with their ongoing projects, including helping to make the school single-use plastic free.

Please note: the bins are monitored 24/7 via security cameras, and any illegal dumping is a serious offence. If you find that the yellow bin is full, please feel free to put items in the purple electrical bin.
