A reflection on Harmony Day
Dear Families,
It has been a pleasure to work with the SRC this term to prepare for Harmony Week. Each week the SRC met to discuss and plan for the fair, communicating with each class to make sure that everyone knew what was happening. The fair went incredibly smoothly and the enthusiasm of the students could not be dampened, despite the odd sprinkling of rain throughout the day.
Some of the stalls that were run on the day included:
Our PFA may want to seek out the assistance of the SRC later in the year when they plan for the biannual St Anthony's School Fair. It was so impressive to see the students prepare, run and pack up the stalls all by themselves with minimal input from their teachers.
I would like to congratulate all of our students who participated on the day and who demonstrated all that St Anthony's is about: Respect, Inclusion, Empathy and Excellence. This was clearly evident throughout the day and is a testament to our families and the values that have been instilled in their children from an early age. These behaviours also are also at the heart of what it means to be a Catholic person in today's world. Our students should be so incredibly proud of themselves and all they have achieved this term.
I would also like to thank our parent community for their support on the day. Proceeds from the various stalls came to just over $500. This amount, combined with the cent line funds, means that we can donate more than $1000 in support of the work of Caritas. These monies will be presented to a representative of the organisation tomorrow at 1pm in the Padua. All families are welcome to attend.
For your enjoyment, I've included some highlights from the day in the carousel of images below.
I wish you all a safe and relaxing Easter and am looking forward to building on the SRCs success in Term 2.
with best wishes,
