Assessments

Students have been completing end of term assessments.  Teacher will provide formal reports at the end of next term.  Teachers have also collected data on reading levels, students & teachers will be able to let you know how they have gone towards their reading goals this term.

STEM

Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics

At the end of each term the whole school engages in STEM activities.  This term we are focussing on Maths and students will be engaging in Escape rooms.  They need to complete problems and activities in small groups of 4 around the school.  When they have solved them they earn keys that will get them escaping from rooms to playground time.

NAPLAN 2021

This year NAPLAN testing will go ahead in May.  Students in year 3 and 5 will complete their NAPLAN tests using an online platform (with the exception of the year 3 writing test.) NAPLAN is a point-in-time assessment that allows parents to see how their child is progressing in literacy and numeracy against the national standard and compared with their peers throughout Australia. At a classroom level, NAPLAN provides additional information to support teachers' professional judgement about student progress. At GGSS we will complete tests from the 11th-19th of May. Please see our schedule below.
