Around the School

News from Stage 1 Lime/Mint

In Mint and Lime we have been learning all about ANZAC Day. We read the book ANZAC Ted and did some writing about him. We have also looked at the different things we do to commemorate ANZAC Day. We enjoyed drawing a silhouette of a solider- they look great. Lots of our class marched and represented our school at the Guyra ANZAC Service. In Science we are learning about the Moon and the Sun and In Geography we are learning about Natural and Built Features. We have been doing lots of Reading and Maths in small groups. We are all looking forward to running in the Colour Explosion Run.

By Alexia Towler & Brysen Bull.

Our Primary students had an exciting day participating in the Colour Explosion Fun Run on Friday, 30th April 2021 organised by our SRC leaders and Ms Emma Lindeman.

Thank you to all the students for their fundraising efforts,  money raised from the Colour Explosion Fun Run will go towards buying picnic tables for our infants play area.

On behalf of all of our primary students, we would like to extend our thanks to all of our SRC representatives and Ms Emma Lindeman for organising this event.

Autumn colour provided a spectacular backdrop for this year’s Anzac Day commemorations in Guyra.

Guyra RSL sub branch said that community participation is something that is appreciated by their members, particularly the large turn out of school children.

We at Guyra Central School are proud of the student involvement at this event.
