Grade 1

Meet the team on Level 2, our desert floor...

We proudly introduce our wonderful Grade 1 Team for 2022:

Miss Sophie Trescowthick (Team Leader) - Grade 1A

My name is Sophie and I am so excited to be leading the Grade 1 team for 2022. This will be my 5th year teaching at SMPS and I absolutely love it.

I grew up on a farm in NSW riding horses and motorbikes. I have two sisters - Mimi and Poppy and we are very close. I live in South Yarra and usually spend my weekends running around the Tan or having coffee and breaky at a local café.

I am grateful to be teaching at such an incredible school and look forward to getting to know your family this year.

Miss Charlee Gough - Grade 1B

My name is Charlee and I am so excited to be joining the teaching team at South Melbourne next year. This year I have been very fortunate to be a part of SMPS as a tutor and loved working with the students and celebrating their growth.

A little bit about me, I grew up on the Bass Coast and attended school on Phillip Island, (although sadly,  I am not a proficient surfer). Growing up I loved dancing, musical theatre and was a competitive swimmer. I have completed my tertiary studies at Swinburne University of Technology attaining a Bachelor of Education (Primary). I am a very proud mum to my cavoodle puppy Alfie.

I am looking forward to beginning my teaching journey as a part of such a wonderful, welcoming and vibrant school community and building strong relationships with my students and their families. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity, and to become a part of such an amazing teaching team.

Miss Lin Liu- Grade 1C

Dear 1C families,

My name is Miss Lin and I will be working with your family in 2022.

I have taught an amazing class of 1C learners in 2021 at SMPS, and it is going to be my second year working with a 1C community in 2022. I am really looking forward to getting to know you all.

I was born and raised in Shanghai, China. My husband and I moved to Melbourne around 5 years ago to continue learning. I’ve finished my master’s degree in teaching in both Early Childhood and Primary from the University of Melbourne in 2019. (let’s do some mental calculation now...)  Yes! It is going to be my third year of teaching!

I am interested in so many things, such as technologies, science, maths, books, languages and cultures. The list doesn’t end. I am always so grateful and happy when I can learn new things. One of my goals in teaching is to make sure that every child will also experience the joy and success of learning!

I look forward to seeing you and creating our learning stories together in the new year.

See you soon.

Miss Lin
