We proudly introduce our wonderful Prep Team for 2022:

Miss Mak Bulte (Team Leader) - Prep A

Hello South Melbourne Primary School Community, my name is Miss Mak. I am a Grade Prep Teacher for 2022 and cannot wait to welcome all of our new families to our wonderful community.

I am Melbourne born and bred and love calling this wonderful city home. Outside of the classroom I like to take trips to the beach and spending time with my brother and sisters. You will commonly find me going for an early morning swim or body surf. I love playing all types of sport, but my favourite is Netball. I have played since I was in Prep and I am still enjoying it today. If I am not running around playing sport, I am most likely enjoying some quality time with family.

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone in 2022 and having another wonderful year of fun, learning and adventures at SMPS.

Mr James Lucas - Prep B

I’m James Lucas and I am absolutely thrilled to be teaching at South Melbourne Primary School this year.

I grew up in Camberwell and have been living in Southbank for the past five years or so. I absolutely love the area and am always at the market or a café on the weekend. I love sport of all kinds, reading, coffee, travel and am very passionate about the environment.

I studied primary education at Deakin University and have been teaching at St Kilda Primary School this year as a Grade 1 teacher. I am so excited to get to know the whole school community next year and continue to grow as a teacher. Can’t wait for what I'm sure is going to be a terrific 2022!

Mr Ben Corns - Prep C

Hello there. My name is Benjamin Robert Maxwell George Corns, but don’t worry, “Ben” will do just fine.

I grew up in Balwyn and have spent most of my life in Marvellous Melbourne. After studying child development as part of my psychology degree, I fell into teaching quite naturally and have thoroughly enjoyed the past ten years as a primary school teacher. My hobbies include singing, playing the trumpet, drama and watching just about any sport around the world. I do not have any pets right now. However, babysitting my one- and two-year-old nephew and niece keeps me on my toes most weekends!

I am extremely grateful and excited to join the South Melbourne Primary School community because I can see it is a place where student happiness and success is the top priority.
