SCHOOL FEES

2021 cancelled student levies activities:  Last year  the Foundation, Gr1 & Gr 2 classes did not go on their excursion due to restrictions, therefore, those student levies have been credited back to those families accounts. The amount of this credit was $75.70 and will be reflected on your 2022 accounts.  Please note that the 3, 4 and 5, 6 classes were able to utilise all of their levies with swimming and camp, so no credits were issued for those year levels.

Overdue 2021:  Please finalise 2021 accounts as soon as possible please, unless you are on a payment plan.  Please contact Liz on principal@stlleongatha.catholic.edu.au if you are experiencing difficulties in meeting your school fee obligations and we can certainly assist your family.  For 2021 fee accounts that remain unpaid and no contact has been made with the school with your intentions,  unfortunately will be forwarded onto DOSCEL at the end of term 1.

2022 Accounts:  School fee accounts will be sent home next week.  Please note that those families on CSEF will not receive their accounts until a later date.

Health Care Card Holders:  For families who hold a current HealthCare Card, you may be eligible for a substantial subsidy off your school fees.

Please contact the office if you would like more information or to request an application form to receive the Camps, Sports and Excursion Funding from the government.  Only NEW families to the CSEF need to apply.  Those who applied last year will roll over to this year.

Criteria is as follows:

The applicant must be one of the following:

  1.  a parent/carer (of the relevant student) who is: a temporary foster carer; or a student is 16 years or older and holds a valid concession card (such as a Youth Allowance Health Care Card or Disability Support Pension Card).
  2. on the first day of term one (31 January 2022) or the first day of term two (26 April 2022) an eligible beneficiary of either a Centrelink Health Care Card or a Pensioner Concession Card; or
  3. an eligible beneficiary of a Veterans Affairs Gold Card; or

Please submit applications to the school prior to the end of term 1.

Parents/carer who receive a carer allowance on behalf of a student, or any other benefit or allowance not income tested by Centrelink, are not eligible for the CSEF payment unless they also meet the above eligibility criterion.

Government payment amount is $125 per child for primary students.

Shared custody:  The CSEF system only allows one application per student. Parents/carers in shared custody situations (who both hold a concession card) must decide beforehand who applies for the CSEF at the school on behalf of the relevant student.  The CSEF is for the benefit of the parent who is in receipt of the CSEF.  Schools are not required to arbitrate this decision.

WORLDS GREATEST SHAVE

Ty Brinksma is in grade 6 at St Laurence's.  Ty has registered to shave off his hair in March for the Worlds Greatest Shave.  Mum says, "Ty loves his hair and just how long he has been growing it, so this means so much to him."  If you want to get behind Ty to support this fantastic cause, you can make his fundraising donation page via the link below.  Good luck Ty, hope you raise lots of money for this cause.

PRAYER

"We have so much for which to be thankful."

Saint Mary MacKillop, 1875

Dear God,

Thank you for your great love and blessing over our lives and that your favor has no end, but it lasts for our entire lifetime. Forgive us for sometimes forgetting that you are acquainted with all of our ways, that you know what concerns us, and you cover us, as with a shield. We ask for your guidance so that we might walk fully in your blessing and goodness today. We ask that your face would shine on us. That you would open the right doors for our lives and for our loved ones, that you would close the wrong doors and protect us from those we need to walk away from.

We pray that you would make our way purposeful and our footsteps firm out of your goodness and love. Give us a heart of wisdom to hear your voice, and make us strong by your huge favor and grace. In Jesus name, Amen.
