Some of the new staff members are also new to the teaching profession and it is a great privilege that they have chosen Copperfield College as the school where they begin their careers. Some are also ex Copperfield students – what a great endorsement in our College! We extend our thanks to the more experienced teaching staff who will act as mentors to our newly arrived colleagues.

Our Campus Educational Support Staff will include new members; Louise Koprek- Front Office, Josie Debono-Integration Aide and Georgie Pryor- Pathways Team. Abraham Nyieth and Tluang Lausaw will continue in their Community Liaison roles across the College.

Whilst the term is only a few weeks old we have had a number of events already, namely the Swimming Sports. Thank you to Kylie Brookshaw (College Sports Leader) and James Riccobene (Campus Sport Leader) for a wonderful day of friendly competition. H Team reigned victorious again. We are now looking forward to the Year 7 Iron Form Day on March 4th.

Morrisby Career Profiling

Year 9 students have completed their Morrisby Career profiling and they are now participating in their interviews with a trained Pathways counsellor to discuss their profile and to set goals for the year ahead.

Year Level Assemblies

We have tried to be cautious by not having large groups of students assemble, in line with DET Operations Guidelines, however we are hoping to have Year level assemblies to formally welcome students back to campus and to introduce our 2022 Student Leaders. We also want to invite students to take on our 2022 Campus goals;

  • Improving student attendance
  • Seating arrangements informed by student data and designed to promote learning
  • Fostering pride in our environment
  • Amplifying student voice and agency

We were very proud of our Champion Year in 2021 and we look forward to a Year of Champions in 2022.

Thank you to all our families for continuing to trust us with your child’s education. Looking forward to continuing our partnership,

Ms Mary Chiodo and Mr Michael Gruis
