Principal's Announcements

New Newsletter Format!
Welcome to the new and improved St Mary's newsletter! We hope this new format will provide families with easier to access information and a better variety of multi media. Because we are utilising other communication facilities such as the school app and Caremonkey, the School Board has decided that a weekly newsletter is no longer necessary. This new format will be released fortnightly. Please make us aware of any feedback, particularly if there are any issues accessing the site.
Feast of the Assumption Mass
Our Gr 3-6 students attended the Assumption Mass last Wednesday. It was a lovely celebration and the engagement of the children was excellent. Thank you to Mrs Lee for organising the wonderful liturgy.
Cousins Baptised!
Congratulations to Abel & Sam Huggard and Noah Williams who were Baptised at Mass on Saturday night. What a special night for the boys and their family!
Book Week
We had a fun day on Friday getting dressed up for Book Week. We had pirates, super heroes, princesses and many other creative costumes! Well done to all parents who went to so much effort with the dress ups! I would also like to acknowledge our wonderful librarian Nerissa Russell who put so much effort into displays in the library and around the school that the staff and students love. Here's a photo of myself and some other Pirates of the Caribbean!
Principal's Awards
Congratulations to Jacob Edmonds on winning the Principal's Award in Week 4. Jacob is a conscientious student who always puts 100% into his work. He has excellent manners and a great sense of humour. Jacob is a consistent PBIS student, at all times being responsible, respectful, resilient and safe. Great work Jacob!
Our Principal's Award recipient last week was Emmie Lowe, a model student in Gr 1/2 KS. Emmie is very thoughtful and supportive of others around her in the classroom. She is focussed and takes great pride in the work she presents. Thank you for being such an outstanding role model Emmie!
St Mary's Netball
Well done to our Gr 5/6 Netball teams who represented St Mary's so well in Bendigo. Our girls team did admirably coming 3rd overall and our Boys team won all their matches to make it to the State Finals in Melbourne next week! Go St Mary's!!

Please note that Friday August 24th is a Pupil Free Day. Our staff are having Catholic Identity Professional Development day.
