Inquiry & Literacy
We have continued our Creativity unit, using a range of craft materials to create a 3D sign for our bedrooms. We used this activity to map out the steps we took and then started to work on procedural writing - making sure our steps were in a logical order and that we used verbs (action words) to start each of our steps.
On Monday we were very lucky to have Bindy from 'Bricks for Kidz' come to visit us and
run a session on using Lego Technic to build a working windmill.
We worked in teams and took turns to 'shop' and 'build', following the instructions carefully and using the correct materials and equipment for each step.
Once we built our windmill and checked it worked,
we were allowed to add our own decorations.
This was amazing fun!
Next we used our procedural writing skills, to draw and then write
about the steps we took to build our windmills.
Education in Faith
We have been discussing what it means to be part of a Catholic community.
We believe in the teachings of Jesus and try to treat others the way we would like to be treated. We also have a special gathering place - the Catholic church.
We have been learning about some of the special signs and symbols within the church and today we were lucky enough to go and visit the church to see them for ourselves.
Ms Marion was very helpful, telling us all about many of the important parts of the church, as well as the very special stained glass window.
Jersey Day
Jersey Day was lots of fun too - raising awareness for Organ Donation.
We got to participate in lots of cool activities in our House teams.
Here we are at the skipping activity.....
Performing Arts Showcase
Thanks to Ms Nicole who has been working with us, helping us build confidence to perform in front of the whole school - sharing our moves in 'A day at the beach'.
Moonlit Sanctuary Excursion
On Tuesday 22nd November, we will be going on an excursion to Moonlit Sanctuary.
Please look out on Operoo for the notice that contains all the details,
