Faith Matters

at St Francis Xavier School

Dear St Francis Xavier Families,

Last Thursday we experienced a beautiful celebration for the Sacrament of Confirmation. The families of Tomo, Micah, Caleb, Ruby and Molly would have been very proud of the efforts made by their children to prepare for, and participate in this special evening. Bishop Tony Ireland, a former parish priest at St Francis Xavier, presided over the mass and shared a very interesting Homily which engaged all members of the congregation.

My sincere thanks to all the teachers, parents and Fr Chinua for their involvement in preparing and supporting our students to develop their knowledge and understanding with regard to the significance of the Confirmation experience.

Congratulations Tomo, Micah, Caleb, Ruby and Molly on receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation

Whole school prayer

This week during our whole school prayer the Confirmation candidates shared some of the main events and learning uncovered during their Confirmation preparation and we finished with this prayer.

Prayers in Pyjamas

Were were delighted to welcome 28 families from our Junior School to Prayers in Pyjamas last night. The evening was filled with prayer, reflection, singing, happy chatting and three very different faith activities. Our good friend Andrew Chinn sent a special video greeting to the SFX community and I know we all enjoyed watching the Juniors sing his song 'These Hands.' Thank you to all the families who were able to come along for the experience and to the staff and senior students who helped facilitate the evening, particularly, Miss Terri, Miss Kim and Miss Melanie, our wonderful Junior Team, and the Year 6 Faith in Action Leaders.
