Middle School

From the Head of Middle School

On Friday last week, we held the annual Middle School, Day Students versus Boarders games. Well, we tried but the weather had other ideas and unfortunately a squall came over which meant that football did not go ahead. This meant the only game played was a very competitive netball game in the gym. The teams were coached by some enthusiastic Year Ten students. Tiffany Butterworth was in charge of the Boarders while Imogen Fethers and Olivia Hill took control of the day students. Scarlett Swain and Brianna Harris were our umpires. There was a huge crowd willing them on and some great netball was played. In the end, the Day Students pulled ahead after halftime to win by 10 goals, even with some 'evening up' by the scorers and a guest appearance by Jasmine Butterworth for the Boarders. The game was played in great spirit and congratulations to all involved.

Year Nine Picnic in the Park

We will be holding an end of Middle School event, the 'Picnic in the Park', for all Year Nine students and families, as a celebration of their time in the Middle School. After consultation with students and staff, we want to provide a fun, sociable event that is inclusive and accessible to all Year Nines and their families. Families have been emailed an invitation directly with the details below.

  • Food: BYO picnic or Emu Point Café will be open for food, ice creams, coffee and     drinks. A menu of meal choices and costs will be sent out prior to the day.
  • Games: There will be a variety of social games set up on the beach and the park.     Students will not be able to swim as there will not be any supervision for                     water activities.
  • RSVP: Please RSVP via the email link that has been sent out.

We look forward to enjoying a relaxing evening of music and food and celebrating the past year at school.
