I am reading a book called Sapiens, a brief history of mankind, written by Yuval Noah Harari. I have many favourite books - Michelle Obama's Becoming is one of my favourites.  My favorite author is Bryce Courtney. I have read most of his books - Family Frying Pan, Power of One, April Fool's Day - the list goes on! I feel as if he is personally telling me his stories. I also like The Henna Artist by Alkah Joshi. Another three books I keep reading almost every week (selected parts of the books) are The Power of your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Priestly, and The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down by Haemin Sunim. These books motivate me to have a positive outlook on my life.  Some other good books are The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society - the movie is great as well.  A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth is another interesting book. My favourite childhood book is Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.

Here's a photo of my school teacher who influenced me to enjoy reading when I was at school. Her name is Mrs Daisy Prakash and she has always been an inspiration to me. I still remember her classes!  In the year 1977, Mrs Prakash took our class out to watch a movie called The Lost Horizon.  A very talented woman, she always explained the teaching and learning concepts clearly in class and had the patience to attend to the various abilities of all the students in her class. Mrs Prakash has told us  that you  enjoy a  book more when you read it a second time. I still do this!  Mrs Prakash is now retired and leading a peaceful life with children and grandchildren. I also read books in Malayalam which is my mother tongue.
