Aboriginal Education Student Recognition Award

Student Achievement

Year 8 student, Ricky Hextall, is a proud recipient of the Aboriginal Education Consultative Group award for excellence in literacy. Every year, the AECG run a statewide recognition award ceremony for young Aboriginal students who are displaying excellence in their studies and leadership skill across the school. Throughout NAIDOC week, Ricky displayed his natural ability to lead others and represent Cecil Hills High School across community events.

Ricky is a quiet achiever in academics and is usually rewarded for his sporting achievements. He is a natural leader in the classroom and encourages his peers to complete their work to the best of their ability. Throughout his studies, Ricky spends time drafting his writing and works very hard to produce beautiful writing pieces. Furthermore, Ricky thoroughly enjoys creative and imaginative writing and likes sharing this with our Yarn Connect group.

Ricky is always representing himself in a respectful and responsible manner across whole school activities. Cecil Hills High School is lucky to have a student like Ricky Hextall.
