Deputy Principal

Mr Kim Forward
Presentation Night
To celebrate the achievements of our students in 2020, an online pre-recorded Presentation Night video will be aired on Monday 7 December at 7.30pm; the program includes addresses from the Principal, Chair of the Board and the 2019 College Dux, student awards and some excellent student musical performances. Details of how to access this will be sent out closer to the time, plus a copy of the program for all families.
Charter Buses
Student travellers on the Sunbury Bus charter services are now required to use their Aitken ID card to tap on and off the bus; this data is transferred in the RollCall system for school and parents to monitor. Parents will soon be sent details of the RollCall app to enable them to track the bus and their child’s travel.
Year 12 Jumper
Aitken College now has a signature Year 12 Jumper in navy blue. Year 12 students who tried it on were very positive about this addition to mark their final year. Orders can be made at the Schooltrenz uniform shop.
2021 Term Dates
Families can see 2021 College term dates on the Aitken website and in My Aitken (Resources / Parents).

Students Attending School with Mild Medical Conditions
Please note the latest advice from the state government concerning children attending school with persistent illness symptoms:
If a student has persistent symptoms due to an underlying condition such as hay fever or asthma, the student should still be tested for coronavirus (COVID-19) if they develop symptoms that are different to or worse than their usual symptoms. Parents/carers should also consider getting a medical certificate from the child’s treating GP to confirm that it is safe for them to attend school with persistent symptoms that may overlap with some of the symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) such as cough or runny nose. For younger children (in Prep to 2) who have had a negative coronavirus (COVID-19) test that was taken after they developed symptoms, the decision about return to school should be made in conjunction with the child’s treating GP. If the GP is satisfied the child has recovered from their acute illness, is otherwise well, and does not need a repeat coronavirus (COVID-19) test, the child can return even if they are not completely free of symptoms. Any worsening of symptoms will require review and repeat coronavirus (COVID-19) testing, if considered appropriate by the doctor. Students with a negative coronavirus (COVID-19) test whose symptoms have completely resolved do not need a medical certificate to return to school.
