2020 Intra- School Maths Olympiads

This year Aitken College entered two teams into the Australasian Problem-Solving Mathematical Intra-School Olympiads, a Junior team (Years 5 and 6) and a Senior team (Years 7 and 8). Students from both teams competed in five individual contests via our College’s Firefly platform during Home Learning. These contests provided students with the opportunity to work on mathematical challenges outside the normal classroom curriculum and when revising and discussing questions, students were exposed to new and different ways of tackling problems. 

Congratulations is extended to all students who participated in this year’s Maths Olympiads. Students received their certificates of achievement, and Special Achievement medals were awarded to first, second and third place finishers in each team.

Junior Division  

• First Place:  Ronan K (5A)
• Second Place:  Kisali W (5A) and Joel L (6C)
• Third Place:  Rafael B (5A)
• Encouragement Award:  Harry D (6K)

Senior Division

• First Place:  Alex M (7K) and Jay P (7K)
• Second Place:   Abhay M (8C)
• Third Place:  Luke G (8S)
• Encouragement Award:  Ceejay C (8S)
