HOUSE SPORTS
On Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 December, we will be conducting our annual House Sports carnival.
Activities have been fine-tuned and the program schedule shortened to accommodate the likelihood of hot weather.
The activities will be a combination of team, individual, competitive and social games.
Children will be participating in our four house groups (red, blue, green, gold) and will rotate through a variety of activities collecting points for their respective houses. The combination of groupings forms part of our transition program. It provides a wonderful opportunity for children to mix with their 2013 and 2014 peers.
If possible, we would like you to send children dressed in the appropriate coloured jumper / shirt.
We would appreciate assistance numerous parents / community members on the day.
Please contact your child’s class teacher for more information.
There is NO reserve date. If too wet to proceed, the 2013 House Sports will be cancelled.

PREMIER'S READING CHALLENGE
Congratulations to all students who participated in the Premier's Reading Challenge.
During assembly yesterday, 71 students received certificates issued by Premier Denis Napthine for meeting the Premier's Reading Challenge.
The PRC encourages all types of reading in any language, with children able to choose from a wide variety of genre, including novels, picture books, short stories, poems and non-fiction titles.
More than 231,000 children participated in the challenge this year. In an ongoing effort to help foster a healthy relationship with literacy, for the first time it was expanded to include children 0-5. Recent research shows that reading to children from birth helps promote brain development and language learning, and that reading frequently to young children has a direct effect on schooling outcomes.
Premiers of Victoria, past and present, wish to congratulate both the children who participated in the challenge, and the school community at large for their support and commitment to the Challenge, and encourage the community to continue to embrace the importance of reading.
Last calls for Book Club orders.
If you are yet to place your bookclub order, they will still be accepted until Wednesday lunchtime.
Thank you
