‘A Delight in Masks and Revels’
The 2020 Year 8 Shakespeare ensemble began early in Term 3 and the cast and crew were excited to be able to share their abridged performance of Twelfth Night with family and friends on 19 November. The ‘rigorous’ rehearsal process involved learning to caper, perfecting our 16th Century bowing and curtseying, swordplay, wearing yellow stockings and timing our hiding in the garden! This project provided not only an ideal Semester 2 lunchtime activity but also a lighthearted exploration of one of William Shakespeare’s most accessible comedies. Students embraced the language and enjoyed building the drama of the unfolding case of mistaken identity. Having actual twins as members of the cast was a perfect alignment of the theatrical stars!

Battle of the Talent
Check out the winning entry from this year's Battle of the Talent: Sisko (Amelia and Eve Cooper). This is the first song they performed, an original piece titled "Kepler".

MyState Film Award and Talented Music Video Entry!
Congratulations to Year 8 student Sam Jones for his MyState Student Film Festival entry, Paralysis, a drama entry which won the Best Sound Design category!
Paralysis can be viewed on YouTube channel: The MyState Film Festival 2020.
If only, a music video was another fantastic entry produced by Sam Jones along with Rupert Bullard (Year 8) actor and producer of this track. Leo Oakley (Year 8) also worked on production as Gaffer and actor.
Creativity supporting the community
Creativity, activity, service (CAS) is one of the three essential elements that every student must complete as part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. In order to demonstrate these three concepts, students are required to undertake a CAS project. The project challenges students to:
- show initiative
- demonstrate perseverance
- develop skills such as collaboration, problem-solving and decision making.
For his IB CAS project, Year 11 student Aaron Molnar wanted to help the school community through this challenging year by recording relaxing piano music, along with immersive cinematography. If you want to have background music as you study, de-stress or to relax, you are invited to watch and listen to these music videos. Thank you Aaron!
