A note from Mr Jackson

World Teachers’ Day

Today is World Teacher’s Day and we have a lot to celebrate. While there was great apprehension on the eve of starting a first remote learning period, our teachers gathered in teams to pivot their profession to an online environment. Looking back on the last year, I am astounded at what they achieved in a difficult, complex and challenging space. Thanks to members of our community who have encouraged and taken time to express their gratitude to our teaching team.

Cup Day Long Weekend

A reminder to parents that there will be a Pupil Free Day on Monday 2 November. Students will not be at school. Tuesday will be a Public Holiday! Then we land back at school on Wednesday fresh for photos! We hope our families enjoy a fun and safe break and return fresh for the days ahead.

2020 Prep Orientation 2

Our new prep students met their peers and our current 2020 Prep teachers today. This was our second virtual orientation prepared by our current prep team. We’re excited to receive the go ahead from the Department of Education to have small groups of ten that include students and a parent onsite for the third session. Plans are underway as to what this visit might look like, stay tuned.

Student Photos this Wednesday

While many doubted we would be able to hold our school photo day this year, the current easing of restrictions have enabled them to go ahead next Wednesday. Although we will not be having group photos of classes, you have been given the opportunity to purchase a class photo of all the individual students in your child’s class. You can pay online or through the envelopes circulated this week. Please make sure all students are in full school uniform and arrive promptly!

Sun Smart Uniform

A reminder that students need to wear a broad brimmed school hat in order to play outside at school. This is part of our Sunsmart uniform that protects students from possible skin damage. Students without a school hat are asked to sit under the ‘shady tree’ during recess and lunch. A reminder to parents to ensure all their children’s uniform is clearly labelled.

RPSTV School Assembly

Today we host the Week 4 Assembly at 2:45pm. All are invited. We will be sharing our Students of the week and hearing a little of how learning has unfolded in 12B. The details are included below.

Pixies Don’t Exist!

Pixies may not exist (said in a whisper so as not to disturb the believers) but our band of committed and quiet lawn mowing volunteers do! We are ever thankful for these parents who share their time, energy and mower on the weekends to ensure our school is looking sharp. Please do not hesitate to send through your name and number so it can be passed onto the Facilities Team! Every hand makes a difference.
