Vision for Learning

Class of 2018 - Hard work and focus pays dividends
Congratulations are well due to the Class of 2018! Below is a summary of the key results. It is easy to see and celebrate the end result. What is unseen, however, is the work that has gone on from the day any of these students started school. Every year, students commit to their learning and work to improve their skills and knowledge. Every year school staff work with students such that they are given the best opportunities to achieve their potential. Each year families provide the support students need to be able to also reach this potential.
Every student in the Class of 2018 is to be congratulated for achieving their SACE. The Dux for 2018 was Bradyn Walsh with an ATAR of 99.9. Bradyn achieved a Merit in Research Project (2017), Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, Physics, English Literary Studies and an A+ grade for Chemistry.
In addition to his Merit awards, Bradyn was also awarded the Governor's Commendation Award in response to his academic excellence and community engagement. This is the first time that an Endeavour College student has received this award. Bradyn was also awarded the Principal's scholarship. Future Pathways
Students studying VET subjects achieved highly in 2018. Some students used their VET subjects to complete their SACE certificate, to be calculated in their ATAR and/or to gain both employment and apprenticeships. We congratulate those students who took on VET courses in addition to their studies at Endeavour College.
SATAC university places were offered in the first round to 96% of Endeavour students who applied. Courses that students applied for ranged from Interior Architecture to various Engineering options to Medicine to Occupational Therapy.
Well done to every student from the Class of 2018.

Digital Safety Presentation
As a precursor to the Laptop Out of the Box night, two officers from the Salisbury Neighbourhood Policing Unit came to present about Digital safety in our homes and at school. This session was incredibly popular and gave a significant amount of information about cybersafety, cyberbullying, fraud, digital footprints and living safely with devices. Strong encouragement was given for families to set up family technology use agreements. This link https://www.thinkuknow.org.au/parents-portal outlines these contracts. The other important aspect of the presentation was about where to go for help and information. The graphic below gives a list of pertinent places to visit for information.
Should you have any feedback for future presentations then please send me an email at Sandra.barry@endeavour.sa.edu.au
