Principal's Report
Dear families,
As it is the last week of Term 2, staff are busy finalising Semester one student reports.
When you receive them, we ask that you take time to discuss the report with your children and acknowledge their growth and learning successes and support them to set improvement goals for the rest of the year. Reports will be sent home on Friday.
It is with much delight and some sadness that we say goodbye to Ms Alanah at the end of this term. Alanah will be on maternity leave for the remainder of this year. I'm sure you will join us in wishing her well. We look forward to meeting her new baby next term.
Whilst we will all miss Ms Alanah, we look forward to getting to know Mr Aaron Collier. Aaron will take over from Alanah as class teacher in Y7 for the reminder of the year. The students in Y2 and Y7 met Aaron last Friday when he came to visit.
We are looking forward to reopening our Intensive English Language program next term and welcoming new students and their families to our school community. We will start with two classes. We are fortunate to have Ms Linta continuing to work with us. She will be a class teacher in one of the IEL classes. The other staff are yet to be announced.
Term 3 will be another busy one, particularly for our Wakakirri troupe who will be performing at the Entertainment Centre on 11 August and our Choir who will perform in September at the Festival Theatre as part of the Festival of Music.
Once again, we thank all families for your flexibility and patience as we have continued to navigate through COVID -19 and the changing restrictions along with other illnesses that resulted in staff changes, and on some days, shortages during the term.
We hope that the weather is kind to us over the next two weeks and that you are able to enjoy some time with your children during the holidays.
We look forward to welcoming everyone to the new term on Monday 25 July.
As always, stay safe and well.
Regards
Terena Pope
Principal
