Regional Music Tour to Cairns

Our Viotti String players and Choral singers enjoyed five days in Cairns over the school holidays. They performed in the Atrium of the beautiful CrystalBrook Bailey Hotel and at the iconic outdoor Amphitheatre in Kuranda.

Among this, students enjoyed visits to the Reef, Hartley’s Crocodile Adventure Park, Kuranda and the Cairns Aquarium. Everyone had a wonderful time together, and the girls were outstanding ambassadors for Clayfield College!

The holidays were a hype of activity for some of our Music Tutors:

You might have recognised Emily Francis, our String Specialist at the Logies on the Gold Coast, performing in a string quartet with Tim Minchin.

Tabea Sitte, another one of our String Specialist Tutor’s, continued her regional tour with ‘Topology’, performing a show called Queensland Stories throughout North-West Queensland.

Bernardo Alviz, our Double Bass Tutor, will be performing a set of original works for bass and electronics at the Dots+Loops Basement series at the Institute of Modern Art this Sunday 16 July.

We are fortunate to have such valuable performers and educators at our College.
