Sports Academy in 2023

Applications are now open for the Sports Academy in 2023

The VUSC Sports Academy includes the Athlete Development Program for Year 7-12 students and the Rugby League Academy for Year 9-12 students. New and current students are welcome to apply. Applications for entry in 2023 close on Friday 26th August 2022.

Athlete Development Program

The Athlete Development Program provides an opportunity for students in Years 7 – 12 to further improve their strategic, tactical and physical skills through a year long specialist sports development program.

The program includes topics such as goal setting, time management, diet and nutrition and individual performance analysis to better equip our student athletes with the tools they require to reach their full potential.

Specialist strength and conditioning coaches provide customised fitness plans and early morning training schedules to enable each athlete to develop according to their individual requirements. Students have access to the college’s fully equipped gymnasium including weights, boxing and circuit rooms.

Rugby League Academy

Rugby League Academy students have access to elite level training programs, including field training where students refine technical skills, decision making skills, go through strategies and conduct performance analysis reviews to further student development. Students are also provided with strength and conditioning programs to enable excellent physical preparation and conditioning. 

Students are expected to fully commit to training schedules and competition events as well as maintain 90% attendance in classes and keep up to date with their schoolwork at all times.

Students in Years 9 - 12 who wish to join the Rugby League Academy should complete the application form for their campus below:

An information session on the Rugby League Academy will be held at 5.45pm on Monday 25th July as part of the Senior Secondary Expo in Building B at the Senior Campus.
