Mama Mia!

It will now be at Williamstown High School’s Centenary Theatre in Pasco Street, Williamstown.

A huge thank you to our Principal, Tamy Stubley for her support with this solution, as it would have been heartbreaking to have to cancel the show.

Musical Production

Our Mamma Mia rehearsals have been full steam ahead this term. The MGC Orchestra, who rehearse before school on Wednesdays, have almost learnt all the songs for our show! Their massive effort is paying off as they are sounding excellent under the leadership of MD Tony Hicks. As we continue to rehearse, our choreography has been a mainly student led project, sharing ideas on how to stage classics like “Honey, Honey” (student choreographers Elodie Mumme and Nova Karikari) “Does Your Mother Know”(Beth Pert) and “Voulez Vous” (Ash Parkinson)

We have watched students develop their characters in such innovative ways, bouncing ideas off each other. Both Casts are enjoying developing their characters portrayed in the   iconic[AS1]  film roles.  They play with accents, stage presence and dancing. Amid all the disruptions of Term 2 with sickness and exams it is becoming more real throughout the process as we begin to discuss costumes and cast t-shirts!

Don’t forget to get your t-shirt order in to the General Office, due first week back in Term 3!

A massive shoutout to Ms.Corry, Ms.Mumme, Ms Calder and Ms McGeechan for their tireless help. We cannot wait to see what is ahead as we head into the Term 3, putting it all together!
