Mia and Ollie's World Trip

I have been working on a project which started during our COVID lockdowns last year and would love to share it with you and our community.

I worked in a team of three teenagers on a self-directed picture book combined with recipes, targeted at young children. We created this book to promote healthy eating among children, in addition to increasing their understanding of different cultures. We also wanted to inspire them to try new things, whether that be food, traveling to a new location or talking to someone new.

You can view and download our ebook here.

Here is an example of a page and recipe included in our book.  You can also read more about our book here https://ericabrownyamada.weebly.com/mia-and-ollies-world-trip.html

This book took over a year to put together. With nine traditional recipes, four personal stories, 11 different countries/continents, 29 characters and 17 backgrounds drawn, this book achieved our goal of spreading cultural awareness and the importance of healthy eating. I hope you can enjoy reading this book and discovering new recipes. We would love it if you could share this with your friends and community.

Thank you to Alicia, Cing, Dayani (Sam) and Harshi from Year 12 who contributed their family stories and recipes to this book.
