Learning Chinese (LOTE)

In Chinese this week, Year 3 and 4 students have been completing their mini books about sports, then reading them aloud to the class, to build confidence in speaking about sports that they and others like and dislike. Their listening, reading, and writing skills have also benefitted from this learning task.

Year 5 students recorded a song about the 5 main rules for writing Chinese characters. This song will become the music track to accompany their stop motion videos, which they will begin filming next week.

Year 6 students have been strengthening their listening and speaking skills, challenging each other to interpret sentences they have written about their weekly routines.

This builds on work they have done to master the vocabulary words for the days of the week, which they practised writing using a calligraphy brush.
