PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Dear Echuca East Students and Families,

I have always been so proud to be a Teacher, Leading Teacher, Assistant Principal and finally the Principal of this great school. I love Echuca East and all that we stand for and know in my heart that all will remain a great school in the future, as all that makes it great is there, the strength exists within. I have decided to retire. I am comfortable with my decision.  The time is right for me and the time is also right for Echuca East.

I have always believed in the staff and their commitment to our students, whatever their background, wherever they start from. Students you are all amazing and constantly strive to be the best you can be.  Each day is a new opportunity, and I love the way you accept individual differences. You, the families who support our school are such an important asset and I thank you all for your contributions.

I have had a tough couple of years with many challenges that go hand in hand with ageing parent, in-laws, the birth of my granddaughter in Queensland and other defining family challenges, all within the framework of the pandemic.

If the pandemic has highlighted anything to me, is the importance of my family and it is now time for me to create more opportunities to spend with those I love so very much. With the recent passing of my mum, I understand the fragility of life and need to spend time, while I’m still young enough to enjoy, doing all that makes me happy

The department will begin the process of recruitment of the Principal during term 2.

Lindy is an amazing leader and has led the school beautifully for the last 15 months or so, so no major changes should impact on you all while the process takes place. The strength of succession planning is clearly evident!

As I have always said, and and our students frequently say…..Once an Eastie, Always an Eastie. Thank you for the privilege of leading this school for so many years.
