Careers Day Out

Our Year 10 students had an action packed morning attending the Careers Day Out Expo, on Wednesday 18 May, for the first time in two years. DECA was a hive of activity when Greater Shepparton Secondary College students arrived, with a host of different workshops, demonstrations and talks provided to allow students to explore their career aspirations. 

Local businesses used the opportunity to promote the job opportunities available and going by the line up at the McDonald’s exhibit there may be a few students getting interviews soon! Many universities and TAFE providers where in attendance and provided information on various higher education courses. It was also great to see different occupations like the Victorian Police Force, Ambulance Victoria and Fire Rescue Victoria in attendance.

These days are so valuable for students, allowing them to kick start their thinking of what they would like to do when their secondary schooling is finished. Subject and program selection for 2023 is fast approaching for Year 10 students and the Careers Team hopes that todays event will be the start of some interesting conversations at home.
