Year 10 Science with Miss Tonkin

Year 10 have been investigating the Chemical World this term. In the images, students were measuring the enzyme activity of 'catalase' found in liver. Students changed and added different concentrations of water and hydrogen peroxide to the liver. They were then able to measure the height of the oxygen gas being released in the reaction.

Year 12 Chemistry with Mrs Loud

The awesome Year 12 Chemistry students studied Organic Chemistry last term. They took great pleasure in creating all kinds of "lovely" ester smells then cleaning up the mess with soap they made themselves, they also created a variety of polymers including silly putty. At some point a King of Chemistry was annoited!

9 Science S with Mrs Loud

During Term 1 Year 9 Science investigated electricity and energy, they conducted many practical investigations and were particularly intrigued by calculating the amount and cost of power to run household appliances. They combined all talents and theories to create a skills tester at the end of the term - watch out for these coming home soon! This term they are studying all things Chemistry and started by looking at the preparation of natural indicators. Please ensure your children have fully enclosed leather footwear for Science as there are a number of practical investigations and it would a shame for them to miss out!

Music & Japanese with Mrs Logan

Music is looking forward to another exciting term. To kick-off, Year 10 Music had their first live gig at JAM Orange's open mic night last week. Students showed off their skills and were well received by their audience. Grace Parry and Amelia Thurtell also performed their own acoustic set, creating some beautiful harmonies. We all look forward to performing again, so stay tuned for our next event!

Primary students have been keenly participating in our Band and Guitar groups hosted by Orange Regional Conservatorium. Seeing the student's passion for learning a new instrument is very encouraging! Students should be proud of their progress this year.

Year 7 students are making excellent strides in their Japanese. They can now give a strong introduction in Japanese explaining who they are and where they're from. We have made connections Ogaki Junior High in Gifu, Japan, holding our first zoom language exchange last term. Molong Central Students greatly impressed the Ogaki students who are keen to interact again later this term. Ganbatte, 7 nensei!
