Our Primary Girls Softball team were successful at the Western Region Final and will progress to the PSSA Competition later this term. The girls had two decisive wins against Calare and Wellington and will meet the Northwest champions. Great work Mrs Schaefer and thank you to Belinda Mills and Lisa Vandervelde for your help on the day. In addition to the school success Indy Vandervelde and Phoebe Lyons were successful at making the Western Region Girls Softball team and will compete in Sydney in September.
NAPLAN has been successfully completed by our students and I thank Mrs Griffith and Mrs Honeyman for their seamless organisation. The results will help us identify opportunities to target specific skills in numeracy and literacy and will be used by all teachers. The results should be available in Term 3 and school results will be presented at the P&C meeting at the start of Term 4.
Six Molong Central School Year 12 students have been successful in gaining unconditional offers at Charles Sturt University. This program aims to reward students who have worked consistently in Year 11 and the first term of their Year 12 studies. Congratulations to Vaughn Quelnan, Hayden Bliss, William Thorne, Meg Murray, Mary Johnson and Bronte Chown. Well done and good luck to all other students who have applied to other institutions, I am sure we will have more good news to report on as we move closer to the Higher School Certificate.
Our Primary debating teams had their first debate this week and both competed against Calare Public School. Team B won their debate and Team A unfortunately lost to a skillful Calare team. Both teams have worked extraordinarily hard, and Ms Valese and Miss Cato are exceptionally proud of them! We look forward to following their progress as the term progresses. Thank you, Mrs Eccleston who came back to Molong Central School to adjudicate and to offer her advice and expertise.
