Hands on Learning

We are up and running in HoL and have made some great progress over the last few weeks. Each week students complete a Personal Focus Plan that helps students work on a particular aspect of personal development that, with teacher guidance, they choose to work on.

Students have been involved in planning, purchasing and cooking meals for the group. As you can see, we’ve also been very busy creating our new HoL learning space in the Agriculture shed. The room has now been plastered up and students have begun painting the room. Once this is completed we will have a kitchen and classroom area installed, as well as storage for tools and a work space.

Next term, students will be involved in creating individual projects as well as working on various other school building improvements. Given we have limited  access to funds, we are calling for help from the School Community for any building materials we could use. We are particularly looking for any timber that can be donated e.g, leftover building materials, pallets etc. We are happy to collect any materials. Please contact the school and leave a message for either Mr. Cunningham or Mr. Hooper if you can help.
