Year 10 and LLN Robot

Year 10 have recently competed an online vocationally orientated Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment. The assessment is linked to Level 3 of the Australian Skills Core Framework (ACSF). LLN Robot is an online system that combines ACSF testing, Course profiling and LLN Support for students.

How does LLN work?

  • The LLN Robot analyses the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) levels of courses that students indicate they have an interest in and against the VET courses offered at school
  • The system compares learner results with the ACSF levels of your courses
  • Robot generates individualised LLN Training Programs & Supplements for your learners.

Students who have completed the assessment have been matched against their courses of interest and have received a printed copy of their results and individualised training supplements. If you would like to discuss your child’s results and work please contact Ms Jansen on 0296213622 ext 123 or vicki.t.jansen@det.nsw.edu.au

Why Australian Students Are Starting to Prepare for Medical Careers in High School

For most individuals, it takes an average of 10+ years of schooling and experience to become a doctor in Australia. While the path to working in medicine has always been a challenging one, it is becoming even more rigorous with each passing year. Students as young as high school aged are now actively preparing for their future careers in medicine. Explore three of the top reasons that young Australians are preparing for medical school at an earlier age than ever before.

Become a Psychiatrist

A step by step guide to the career of psychiatry.

Some universities offer a slightly different pathway for high school graduates. If you have provisional entry into medicine from high school, you will do a two year accelerated undergraduate degree (e.g. Biomedical Science) before entering medical school. In this pathway you will do a four year medical degree following on from your two year accelerated biomedical science / health science degree.

From there you have several more steps before becoming a fully qualified psychiatrist. Read on here:
