Evans Café Dinner

On 28th August 2019, Year 11 and Year 12 Hospitality students organised “Evans Café Dinner” for their parents and siblings. The dinner was provided in a formal restaurant style, with an alternate drop menu featuring an entrée, main meal and dessert.

The purpose of this special event was to give parents an insight into how the VET Hospitality students learn and develop their cooking skills in the classroom setting. It was also very valuable for the students to have an opportunity to display their skills and knowledge in preparing and presenting food to the customers in a formal setting. This in turn helped to build their own self confidence and develop their barista skills.

Around 50 people attended and enjoyed a three course meal. Parents and siblings loved the quality and service of food and left positive and valuable customer feedback. We look forward to organising many more catering events like this in the near future.

Running a Business - Year 10 Commerce

During week 9 the year 10 Commerce students completed the practical part of their Commerce assessment by Running a Business Stall. These students were tasked with coming up with a business idea, creating a product to sell as well as financing and marketing their product. The business stalls were hugely successful with every business turning a profit! Profits made from the stall will go to Youth Off the Streets a charity that supports young people who are homeless as well as the year 10 Celebration in term 4. We would like to congratulate all the Commerce students for their amazing effort with this task!
