Ballarat International Foto Biennale Education team

March 21 saw a group a selected year 11 and 12 students invited to join the Ballarat International Foto Biennale Education team on a photography filled day at Government House and the Australian Centre of Contemporary Art (ACCA).

Woodmans Hill students received a morning tour of the State Apartments at Government House and meet the Governor of Victoria, The Hon Linda Dessau AC, and her husband, Mr Anthony Howard QC, before having the unique opportunity to be alone in the space to photograph one of Victoria’s most significant historic buildings. The afternoon included a visit to the ACCA exhibition The Theatre is Lying, where students participated in a photography based workshop. The Theatre is Lying brings together artists who create alternative narratives and worlds through illusionary, cinematic and theatrical devices.

Students who took part in this unique opportunity were:                            Saffron Lockwood, Yvonne Jarrod, Sophie Lyons and Charlie Stone.  These photos were taken by Year 11 student Charlie Stone.
