Pick My Project
Great news! The full funding for the Mount View Pick My Project Development has been
received and we can now move to final project planning. A total of $198,000 will provide:
three mini-basketball/hot shots tennis courts
reversible basketball and netball towers
artificial turf surfaces
a range of fitness stations
All of the courts will be built at the bottom of the ramp on the side of the oval while the fitness
stations will be spread around the eastern side of the oval. Phase one will include the courts
and towers while phase two will include the fitness stations. The total project will be
welcomed by all of the students as well as community members who utilize the facilities
outside school hours.
NAPLAN
All students in Years 3 and 5 have completed the NAPLAN Tests in English and
Mathematics over the last two weeks. I am pleased to share that the online nature of the
testing this year went very well with a minimum of delay. I commend the students on the way
in which they approached the testing and I am proud of the way in which they applied
themselves. The results will be analysed by the teachers and school leadership team when
they are made available. Parents should receive the NAPLAN report for their child by August
this year.
Election BBQ
Thank you to those parents who volunteered to help with the Election BBQ held last
Saturday. Over $900 was raised for the school through the support of the Mount View
community.
Senior Learning Centre Ramp
The ramp to the Senior Learning Centre has been recarpeted and looks very smart. The new
carpet overcomes a potential trip hazard in this high traffic area.
Education Week
Education Week at Mount View has been held this week. The main feature of the week was
the open afternoon on Tuesday which was attended by a number of current and prospective
parents.
Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews
The Student Mid-Year Reports are currently being written by all of the teachers and these
will be released to parents on Friday, 21 st of June. Parents will have the opportunity to speak
with the teachers about the reports at the Parent Teacher Interviews which will be conducted
after school on Monday 24 th and Tuesday 25 th of June. This is a change in the reporting
arrangements at Mount View in response to parent feedback about reporting student
achievement and progress.
ISSE Delegation
The International School to School Experience delegation from Cancun, Mexico will arrive in
Melbourne on Sunday after spending Saturday in Sydney. We look forward to meeting the
delegation for the first time at school on Monday. The assembly on Monday afternoon will be
an opportunity for the delegation to meet all of the Mount View community.
