Clean-Up Australia Day

We are right back into the swing of things this year with our usual Sustainability initiatives. Dunhelen and Brookhill students have resumed their recycling duties across the College, and Dunhelen and Cumberland Homerooms are in the process of selecting their Semester 1 Class Environment Monitors! This is an exciting time for students as they refresh their environmentally responsible behaviours and set great examples for students and families new to Aitken College.

Our first major focus for the year is Clean-Up Australia Day which is quickly approaching; Friday 1 March 2019. Aitken College is officially registered to participate so we are all looking forward to the big day! We are very lucky to have such amazing College grounds, which means we do not have to travel off-site to contribute to this nation-wide initiative. Brodies Creek runs through the College property and with all of the developments going up around us, there is ample opportunity for us to ‘Clean-Up’ our local waterways right here at the College.

Classes from Prep to Year 12 will participate in different ways, depending on how the classroom teacher decides to incorporate Clean-Up Australia Day activities into their lessons.

Be sure to check out the next Environmental Programs newsletter article for updates on our involvement in Clean-up Australia Day!
