Religious Education

For our staff prayer on Monday morning Charlotte Ireland shared a beautiful visual clip centred on Remembrance Day. Whist it is aimed at young children the thought provoking imagery is for everyone. Please see this link and experience this. Please find the prayer was a staff, said to remember and pray for those who gave their lives.

Year 4 Family Class Mass
It was lovely seeing so many of our Year 4s at Mass last Sunday. Thank you to Miss Durie and Ms Johnston for working with their students to prepare a Mass centred on the theme of Peace, in ourselves, with each other and on a global stage.
2019 Prep Information Evening
Finally it was with great joy we welcomed the 2019 Prep families to the St Finbar’s Parent Information Evening. This stage is always one filled with mixed emotions. It is exciting having a child starting their schooling life, but also a little sad, leaving the baby, toddler and kindergarten stage behind. We warmly welcome you to the St Finbar’s family and look forward to journeying with yourselves and your child, throughout your primary school years. Please find the prayer we shared. Social Justice - Christmas Hamper Appeal.
Next week we will outline our annual St Vincent de Paul Christmas hamper appeal. This will start on Monday 26th November and will conclude the week of our End of 2018 School Mass on Wednesday 19th December. You are warmly invited to this Mass, where we celebrate the year that has been and prepare for Christmas. The choir will be singing and each year level will be involved.
Anthony's Great Grandfather Tom Enright was a 17 year old who enlisted in the New Zealand army and was sent to fight in World War 1. Great Grandaddy Tom was one of the many thousand of Australian and New Zealand soldiers to land on the shores of Gallopoli.
There were 8,555 other New Zealanders with him and 2,721 of these men died along with 5,482 Australians. Lucky for Anthony's Great Granddaddy Tom was not one of them.
Our great granddad loved his life and freedom. He was so proud of Australia and New Zealand. He was my mum's granddad and she wears his medals on her reserve uniform.
CONDOLENCES
Our thoughts and prayers are offered to Don, Kathy, Mark, Patrick and Maddie V - 6M on the recent death of Kathy's mother, Eileen Harris.
May she rest in peace.
Bethlehem in Brighton
Outside the Church this weekend and next weekend will be some empty plates with instructions. If families would like to bake a cake or slice for this non for profit organisation, it would be most appreciated.
