Middle School

Middle School Update
It has been a very busy time for the middle school. The Year 7 and 8 students have completed their class assessments, participated in the wellbeing day held last Thursday and currently involved in the summer program. Not to be outdone, the Year 9 students have had their first taste of formal exams which prepares them for what to expect every semester from now until they finish their secondary education. They also went to “The Summit” on a three day camp and undertook a number of activities (see photos attached).
It has also been a very busy time in the middle year’s office allocating students to classes for 2019. Many factors were considered in allocating students to classes including languages studied, student requests, staffing and class sizes. Actual classes will be available day 1 of the 2019 school year.
Finally, on behalf of everyone in the middle years’ team, I would like to wish you a very safe and happy holiday and I look forward to seeing all of you in the new year as you move up to the next year level at Koonung.

Year 9 Camp
On Wednesday 12 December the Year 9 cohort set off on their transition into Year 10 camp at "The Summit".
Despite zombie cyclone warnings the weather held and allowed the full program to run.
Students took part in a wide range of challenging team building and goal setting activities over the 3 days.
Many students experienced major stretch goals and should be proud of their efforts.
The cohort had a very positive experience and made the camp a lot of fun for all concerned.
This was supported by a very enthusiastic team of teachers and volunteers.
Thankyou Year 9 and have a good festive break.
