Senior School Snapshot 

Our major events were spectacular this year beginning with the inaugural VCE Formal, the Year 12 celebration breakfast and finally, the Year 12 Valedictory at a new venue. The organisation was exceptional from the Senior School team led by Zaiga Bendrups. Everyone that attended enjoyed themselves immensely and the events all ran very smoothly. A huge thank you to Zaiga for all of her hard work to make these events such a success.

We also welcomed Helen Galouzis, who joined the team for 6 weeks while Zaiga was on leave. Helen quickly became an important member of the Senior School and the students were happy to see another smiling face at the window each day. The team were very happy to have Helen’s assistance, in what can be a very demanding role.

2018 has seen 141 Year 12 students complete their secondary schooling and obtain their VCE. We are very proud of all of their achievements and wish them well with everything that they plan in the future. A reminder to all of the students that Senior Sub school team and Careers are available anytime should you need to chat about future plans, discuss where to go from here, or you just want to come in and let us know how you went and where you are heading to next. We are only a phone call away.

This will be my last year as a full time teacher at Koonung Secondary College  as I will be retiring at the end of 2018 after 20 years at the school. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the parents, students and staff that I have had the pleasure to be involved with over the years. There are far too many people to name individually, but each and every one of you have left an imprint and I will be taking away some very fond memories of my time at the school. I would also like to thank my 2018 Senior School team. Everyone has worked extremely hard to make the Senior Sub school what it is and to enable it to run as smoothly and appear, effortless. Let me assure you that a great deal of hard work, sweat and tears goes on behind to scenes to allow for the façade. I wish the team all the best for 2019.
