PFA Book Sale Wrap-up
The Annual PFA Second Hand Book Sale was held on Saturday 1 December. Once again we had a very smooth running sale which was a success on a number of fronts. We had over 40 volunteers who spent Thursday through to Saturday, as well as Monday, to ensure the book sale was a success. Even though it is a fun and social time for us, we do appreciate the time offered by these people from their already busy lives. Also thank you to the Koonung staff, and in particular our wonderful office staff, who support us with a smile every year.Whilst a sacrifice in terms of time and effort, this was amply compensated by all volunteers having a lot of fun. Many thanks to each and every one of you - without you the sale could not go ahead.
This year we had 1649 books offered for sale. 1052 books were sold over the sale weekend. Total takings for the sale was $24,826. Money returned to Koonung families was $17,648. PFA earned $7,178 which will be returned to the school next year. Some further PFA owned books have been sold since the sale weekend as well.

Merry Christmas from everyone in the PFA and thank you for another wonderful year of parent support
Last week a number of PFA members came together to celebrate Christmas and create fantastic gingerbread houses (see some of these fantastic works of art!).
At this event we also farewelled some enormously significant individuals who, through their generosity of time, have been outstanding members of the PFA.
I outlined how Nicole Martin had guided and mentored me in my first year at the PFA, and quite honestly I/we would not have been able to achieve the milestones we did this year without her tireless efforts and incredible efficiency and drive.
We also said goodbye to Nicole Owens and Cath Bennie, two individuals that have been synonymous with every success the PFA has achieved.
I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas from the PFA. Thank you to all the parents of Koonung who have enabled the PFA to have another great year supporting college parents, teachers and students. We have been involved in many successful events and along the way we have had lots of fun and enjoyed cementing wonderful friendships, and at the same time, raised valuable funds for KSC.
Our first meeting in 2019 is Monday 11 February, 7:30pm in the Middle Years Centre, I encourage everyone to come along, it is a great opportunity to work with a fantastic team of individuals, and learn more about your child’s school, we hope to see you in 2019.
