SENIOR BOYS

After a cold, wet weekend, many boarders returned to Mt Erin Boarding from throughout the Riverina with stories of snow and sleet. As the cold snap continued for a few days, the senior boys elected to spend most of their free time inside the warm boarding house, entertaining themselves with games of pool and cards, or watching movies in the common rooms with friends.

As a group, the Year 12 boys have worked hard through their Trial HSC exams, supported each other and coped well with the stresses of exams. As the  Year 12 exams come to a close, the Year  11 boys are in preparation for their upcoming End of Preliminary Course Exams.

Representing Kildare Catholic College in the Hardy Shield, Bodean Tereva scored the winning try in his team’s win against Mater Dei Catholic College. Bodean scored  another try in their win over Mt Austin High School and starred in the victory over Wagga Wagga High School. Well done Bodean!

It has been fantastic to see a significant number of Year 11 boys show interest in applying for student leadership positions at Mount Erin Boarding for next year.

SENIOR GIRLS

On Monday 17th August Tilly played a great game of touch football for Mater Dei Catholic College in the Preston Butcher Cup Grand Final. Unfortunately Tilly’s team was beaten by Kildare 9-4 after a strong effort on the field.

The Year 12 girls have been hard at work studying for their Trial HSC exams. They have been in high spirits and have certainly put great into their examination preparation.

I am excited to share that some of the Year 12 girls have  already received early entry offers to Universities. We are very proud of you all! Best wishes to Year 12's who are still awaiting responses from the Universities- we have our fingers crossed for you.

We are pleased to have three senior girls applying for the position of College Captain at Kildare Catholic College. We wish them the best of luck. All three are worthy candidates who would bring a great deal to the role.

This picture is of some year 11 girls, doing a workout in the dorm hallway. From the picture you can see they are having a blast. Due to COVID we can’t venture off site for activities and the weather has not been optimal either. The girls are trying to re-energise before they can get back into study again.
